SiGe Microsystems raises US$19.5 million

Ottawa-based SiGe Microsystems has raised US$19.5 million in expansion financing to fund new product development and support operational growth for booming sales of its integrated circuits and RF front-end modules in the cellular, GPS and WIMAX markets. The syndicated venture capital financing is led by TD Capital Technology Ventures, Prism Venture Partners, VenGrowth Private Equity Partners and 3i Technology Partners. Also participating are Hunt Ventures, RWI Group, GrowthWorks and Vista Ventures. The latest round follows SiGe's 2003 financing of US$42.8 million by many of the same VC firms. Since 2003, SiGe's sales have increased from $3.6 million to $31.8 million in 2005, with an additional $23 million in the first six months of 2006….
