New tri-university neuroscience network created

The Ontario-based universities have come together to establish the Canadian Action and Perception Network (CAPnet), a neuroscience research initiative focused on the brain's control of human movement and perception and how disease and injury can disrupt these functions. The network combines the York Centre for Vision Research at York Univ, the Group for Action and Perception at the Univ of Western Ontario and the Group for Sensorimotor Integration at Queen's Univ. CAPnet was kicked off earlier this month at a two-day business and science meeting in Toronto to discuss how the network can mount an initiative on a national and international scale. Many of the researchers involved are acknowledged world leaders in their field and have access to major research infrastructure for brain imaging, recording, behavioural assessment tools and various patient populations….
