Ottawa should spend $750 million in venture capital strategy to close the gaps in Canada’s early-stage capital market

The National Angel Capital Organization urges the federal government to use $750 million allocated in Budget 2025's venture capital strategy to address structural gaps in Canada's early-stage capital market, which NACO says is crucial for scaling companies and attracting institutional investment. NACO recommends using $500 million for an early-stage matching funds program and $250 million to strengthen Canada's pre-seed and seed ecosystem.
