WILFRED LAURIER CREATES BUSINESS DEAN COUNCIL

The Wilfred Laurier Univ School of Business has created a dean's advisory council to provide advice on objectives and long-term goals. The school's dean is Scott Carson who recently returned from a secondment to the Ontario government's Office of Privatization. The 21-member council is composed of individuals representing both the Old and New Economy, as well as people from the government and academic sectors. It will meet twice annually and has the authority to strike committees and task forces for special projects. The university business school is one of the largest in Canada and recently created a chair in the management of technology enterprises to enhance teaching and research in the management of early-stage technology enterprises.
