John Webb has been appointed board chair of Calgary Technologies Inc (CTI). Webb, a senior VP at AT&T Canada and an engineering graduate from the Univ of Saskatchewan, has been a CTI board member for seven years. He has held senior management positions at Nortel Networks and AGT/Telus and is the incoming president of the Calgary Chamber of Commerce. He has also served on the boards of several organizations including TRLabs, ISM-Alberta and iCORE. Webb replaces Fred Stewart, a former minister of Alberta’s Ministry of Technology, Research and Telecommunications. Stewart led CTI through its move to new quarters in the Alastair Ross Technology Centre. He also helped reduce dependence on government funding, develop a new strategic plan and spearheaded a name change from the Calgary Research & Development Authority….
