Dr Henry Haddad is the new president of the Canadian Medical Association (CMA) for a one-year term. He has been on the CMA’s board of directors since 1994 and its executive committee since 1997. Among his many achievements with the CMA, he chaired a working group that produced the Association’s code to protect patient privacy in the electronic age. Between 1997 and 1999 Haddad was president of the Quebec Medical Association. He has a long and distinguished career in medicine, including chief of gastro-enterology and vice-dean for professional and student affairs at the Univ of Sherbrooke.
