IDRC co-funds five African R&D projects

A joint research program between Canada and Australia will see $15 million shared among five R&D projects in Africa. Cultivate Africa's Future — a shared initiative between the International Development Research Centre and the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research selected five projects slated to run for 30 months. The projects are: evaluation of fish processing practices (Zambia and Malawi), research into naturally occurring toxic substances produced by fungi on maize (Zimbabwe), testing feasibility of raising poultry and fish on insect-based feed (Kenya and Uganda), testing and adapting solar fish-drying nets to reduce losses (Malawi) and research into the production and marke
