Garold G. Breit has been appointed executive director of technology transfer at the Univ of Manitoba. Breit will work closely with VP research Dr Joanne Keselman, and is responsible for the university’s commercialization activities. His started his career at Revlon in the areas of marketing and acquisitions, moving on to serve as president of four biopharmaceutical start-ups. He has also launched three successful technology transfer programs at academic institutions in the US. Breit founded SouthwestBIO (a venture conference and symposium) in 2001, and is a member of the Nanotech Foundation and the Association of University Technology Managers (AUTM).
