Composites Innovation Centre receives $6.6 million

The Composites Innovation Centre (CIC) in Winnipeg has received $6.6 million over three years under the Canada-Manitoba Economic Partnership Agreement. Formed in 2003, the not-for-profit corporation is located in the Univ of Manitoba’s Smartpark and has completed a biomaterials laboratory to develop biocomposites from natural fibres such as hemp and flax. It has completed 12 industry-driven projects and is currently helping to fund 20 others.
