McGill and U of T join edX on-line learning service

McGill Univ and the Univ of Toronto have joined edX, a $60-million on-line learning initiative launched by Harvard Univ and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2012. The two Canadian institutions are part of a tranche of six non-US universities that doubles edX's membership. Members gain access to MIT's open-source MITx platform and massive datasets that will be key for conducting research into digital learning environments and the development of assessment tools. McGill will initially offer edX courses in the sciences, humanities and public policy....
