Perimeter and Communitech assist in African mentoring

The Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics and Communitech are partnering to assist the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS) in matching employers with graduates from one of the institutes centres. The AIMS Industry Initiative was launched earlier this month in Cape Town, South Africa and is part of the AIMS Next Einstein Initiative. AIMS-NEI was launched in South Africa in 2008 with the objective of opening 13 more institutes within a decade. To date, new centres have been established in Senegal and Ghana. The industry initiative is part of the AIMS objective of contributing to African development through industry. The Perimeter Institute has taken a leadership role in AIMS-NEI while Communitech has proven expertise in technology transfer, commercialization and mentoring. Both are based in Waterloo ON....
