Canada urged to join global science portal

Canada has been invited to participate in a new global science gateway web portal being established in a joint initiative by the US Department of Energy and the British Library. The agreement to establish the Science World portal was signed January 21st in London with representatives from several countries — including Canada — in attendance. Its objective is to accelerate the sharing of knowledge on a global scale by disseminating web-based scientific inform- ation. Modelled on Science.gov, the US interagency portal, Science World is inviting other countries to participate. Other countries participating in the opening included South Korea, China, Finland, France, Germany, Portugal and the Russian federation….
