Roe East

Roe East has been appointed president of Cummins Westport Inc (CWI), a joint venture between Cummins Inc, Columbus IN, and Westport Innovations Inc, Vancouver, that manufactures and sells low-emissions alternative fuel engines for commercial trucks and buses. East comes to from Cummins where he was director of power systems marketing and business development. He will be responsible for the overall direction of the firm including a transition to the future natural gas engine business. East holds a BSc in mechanical engineering and mathematical economics from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Indiana and a master of management from Northwestern Univ in Illinois. AVAC Ltd has appointed Art Froehlich as the chairman of its board of directors, replacing Bob Splane who becomes vice-chair. Froehlich is a partner in AdFarm, a large agricultural marketing and communications firm.
