QNX software at core of new autonomous vehicle

QNX Software Systems Ltd is contributing a software operating system to an autonomous vehicle project at the Univ of Parma, Italy. The project is being led by the university's Artificial Vision and Intelligent Systems Laboratory which will result in the unveiling of a fully autonomous vehicle called DEEVA this summer. The vehicle has a set of sensors that deliver a 3D view of the circumference of the vehicle. The QNX operating system will allow the car's perform-path and trajectory planning systems to process laser and visual data in real time and implement the human-machine interface. Ottawa-based QNX is a wholly owned subsidiary of Blackberry Ltd....
