The Ontario government has taken the unusual step of matching a major scientific prize to one of the province's leading scientists. The Ministry of Research and Innovation is matching Dr Anthony Pawson's $500,000 Kyoto Prize in recognition of his work in molecular biology at the Samuel Lunenfeld Research Institute into stopping the growth of diseases like diabetes and cancer.
