MDS extends agreement with Ontario Power Generation

MDS Nordion has extended its existing agreement with Ontario Power Generation Inc (OPG) for the supply of cobalt-60 used in gamma sterilization technologies globally. The agreement extends until 2020 under which OPG will, continue to supply the raw materials for use in MDS' medical sterilization and sealed source products. About 40% of single use medical devices are sterilized using gamma sterilization technologies.
