Lockheed Martin funds Ottawa firm's technology

Lockheed Martin's Canadian subsidiary has announced that it providing an unspecified amount of R&D funding to Ottawa-based Maritime Way Scientific Inc to support the firm's development of an acoustic modelling system and tactical decision aid technologies. Lockheed Martin Canada Mission Systems & Training is supporting Maritime Way's SPARTA (sonar performance-acoustic research-tactical analysis) technology to enhance its ability to better predict ocean soundscapes, define sonar and sensor placements and assist in funding enemy threats.
