Johnson & Johnson closing Montreal R&D facility

Health care products giant Johnson & Johnson is closing its Montreal R&D centre at the end of March, throwing 36 employees and 90 contract staffers out of work. The centre is attached to the firm's manufacturing plant where it makes feminine hygiene products. The New Brunswick NJ-based firm, which reported $16 billion in sales in its most recent quarter, said it was focusing on fewer R&D projects that represent greater strategic opportunity....
