Former Finnish PM to chair new CCA study

The Council of Canadian Academies (CCA) has announced that former Finish prime minister Esko Aho will chair its new expert panel assessment on the Socio-Economic Aspects of Innovation Investments which has been commissioned by the Ontario Ministry of Economic Development and Innovation (R$, November 11/11). The panel will address how actual and potential outcomes and impacts of Ontario government spending on innovation and scientific activities can be measured. Aho served as Finland's PM from 1991 to 1995 He served as president of Sitra, the Finnish Innovation Fund from 2004 to 2008 before joining Nokia as executive VP of corporate relations and responsibility. The panel will complete its work over the next year….
