GrowLab and BDC offer support to entrepreneurs

The Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) is offering $150,000 in follow-on financing to successful graduates of a unique mentorship program for aspiring entrepreneurs. The GrowLab start-up boot camp is holding a competition offering start-up companies $25,000, four months of mentoring, free office space and the opportunity to pitch to investors. The accelerator program stems from last year's GROW Conference in Vancouver which brought together selected entrepreneurs with Silicon Valley executives and investors. The deadline for the current competition is June 20th. It will choose five firms for the first cohort beginning August 15th. The first three months of the mentorship will take place in Vancouver with the final month in San Francisco. In addition to BDC, several other prominent Canadian and US venture capital firms are also involved in GrowLab....
