Dr Stephen Arneric has been appointed VP research and preclinical development at Neuromed Pharmaceuticals, a private Vancouver-based company that recently struck a major collaborative research agreement with Merck & Co Ltd (R$, March 31/06). Arneric comes to Neuromed from Pfizer Inc's Ann Arbor Laboratories where he was senior director and head for nervous systems biology. Arneric holds a PhD in pharmacology from the Univ of Iowa and received postdoctoral training at Cornell Univ Medical College.
