Dr Prakash Patnaik

Dr Prakash Patnaik has been appointed to the Research and Technology Organization of NATO and its Applied Vehicle Technology panel. He is already chair of NATO's technical committee on mechanical systems and materials for the latter panel. Patnaik is a director and chief defence scientist at the National Research Council's Institute of Aerospace Research (IAR). Prior to joining IAR, he spent 17 years at Orenda Aerospace Corp, a division of Magellan Aerospace Corp. Green Centre Canada — a Centre of Excellence for Commercialization and Research — has unveiled more members of its executive team. Dr Michael Szarka is director of commercial development. Past positions include technology manager at the Univ of Toronto's Innovations Foundation and a key role in the launch and operations of the Univ of Ontario Institute of Technology. Dr Jonathan Sargent is manager of commercial development. He has worked at GE plastics and the biotech sector in product and business development in the chemical, materials and biotech fields. Dr Preston Chase is a senior development scientist coming from the Univ of Toronto where he was a research associate developing metal-free hydrogenation catalysts.
