Dr Nicholas Georganas

Dr Nicholas Georganas has been selected as this year's recipient of the ORION Leadership Award for his technical contributions in computer, cellular and multimedia networking and his role in training and mentoring community researchers. As the associate VP research (external) at the Univ of Ottawa, Georganas is considered one of the fathers of Canadian high-tech from the underlying mechanisms of the Internet to broadband applications including haptically enabled distributed virtual environments.
