David McFadden has been appointed chair of the advisory committee for the Ontario Centres of Excellence program, effective October 10. McFadden has selected to head the committee to lead its review on the OCE's role in commercialization and will present recommendations to the minister of Energy Science and Technology by the end of the year. A partner in the law firm of Smith Lyons, he recently completed a term as chair of the Toronto Board of Trade and served as chair of the province's Advanced Technology Commercialization Task Force in 1998.
