CSA awards $10.3 million for space technologies

The Canadian Space Agency (CSA) has awarded $10.3 million for 36 R&D contracts through its Space Technology Development Program. The contracts include guidance, navigation and control software for the autonomy, safety and reliability of space systems, refinements of a new satellite concept for sensing land surface types, fast distress alerts to reduce search and rescue times, and a feasibility study for instrumentation for measuring water content remotely.
