The Creative Destruction Lab (CDL) will open a new location at University of Oxford’s Saïd Business School. CDL-Oxford will be the seventh location in the network of seed-stage accelerators first developed at the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management in 2012. The announcement comes half a year after the opening of Creative Destruction Lab-New York City (CDL-NYC) at NYU's Stern School of Business. The CDL model aims to provide startup founders with management expertise through the connected business school, and to surround them with experienced tech executives and investors who can provide advice and guidance. The collective worth of startups that have passed through the CDL network is now $3.4 billion in equity value. The first three founding partners at CDL-Oxford are Patrick Pichette, a partner at iNovia Capital in Montreal and formerly a chief financial officer of Google; John McCall MacBain, founder of Trader Classified Media; and Peter Davies, a senior partner at investment management firm Lansdowne Partners and current chair of Oxford Sciences Innovation.
