Council of S&T Advisors given two new mandates

The Council of Science and Technology Advisors (CSTA) has been given two new topics for future study — Federal S&T Human Resources and Federal S&T Communications. As instructed by the Cabinet Committee for Economic Union, the CSTA will strike two sub-committees to undertake the work. Terms of reference and sub-committee composition will be determined in the near future. For Federal S&T Human Resources, the CSTA will examine challenges unique to renewal of federal S&T personnel and recommend practices and polices to address the challenges. It will build upon previous CSTA reports and complement ongoing federal efforts to renew capacity. For Federal S&T Communications, the CSTA will examine S&T communications and propose recommendations and mechanisms to improve effectiveness....
