Four Canadian research agencies have teamed up to launch a $12.5 million initiative to explore how humans and natural systems are adapting to actual and expected changes in climate both in Canada and the developing world. A call for proposals has been issued to seek research teams for The International Research Initiative on Adaptation to Climate Change. Up to five teams will be funded and receive $2.5 million over five years. Backing the initiative are the International Development Research Centre, Canadian Institutes of Health Research, Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council and Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council. Successful projects will be announced in 2010. FMI: www.idrc.ca/iriacc....
