CFI announces last awards under sunsetting NOP

The Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI) has awarded $18.6 million to 87 projects at 31 universities to assist in the attraction and retention of new researchers. The awards were made through its New Opportunities Fund (NOF) ($14.3 million) and the Infrastructure Operating Fund ($4.3 million). This marks the final awards made under NOF, which will be replaced by the Leaders Opportunity Fund (LOF). The LOF will have a budget of $300 million over five years beginning next year.
