Carbon Management Canada (CMC), a Network of Centres of Excellence, has signed a memorandum of understanding with the UK Carbon Capture and Storage Research Centre (UKCCSRC) to facilitate collaborative projects at the CMC's field research station currently under development in conjunction with the Univ of Calgary. The MOU is intended to lower the cost of carbon capture and storage (CCS) to make it a more viable option for reducing greenhouse gas emissions stemming from large-scale oil and gas extraction. CMC and UKCCSRC have a track record of cooperation and the MOU will boost that interaction, allowing for collaborative research projects, joint workshops, seminars and webinars, joint management meetings and reciprocal publication of research news.
