CIHR spearheads $1.5-million clinical trials centre

The Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) is contributing $750,000 towards the establishment of a Canadian Clinical Trials Coordinating Centre (CCTCC) to help reverse the decline in clinical trial investment in Canada. CIHR funding will be matched by the industry association Rx&D as well as $45,000 and in-kind contributions from the recently merged Association of Canadian Academic Healthcare Organizations/Canadian Healthcare Association. The CCTCC will coordinate clinical trial activities and streamline regulatory processes for companies and researchers.
