CANARIE Inc has launched the second competition under its Learning Program, a cost-shared initiative to support development of broadband applications to promote learning. The program is intended to target critical barriers to network-enabled education. It funds consortia of institutions and companies to undertake innovative projects aimed at reducing structural impediments to the effective use of advanced networks for education and training. The $26-million program awarded $10 million to 33 organizations in the initial round.
