Trojan Technologies acquires US firm

Trojan Technologies Inc, London ON, has acquired the assets of Advanced Ultraviolet Solutions (AUVS), Tucson AZ, for US$500,000 and milestone/earn-out payments based on royalties tied to revenue generation and profitability. With the acquisition, Trojan adds AUVS' optimized UV light systems treatment technology to its technology base for ultraviolet disinfection systems for a wide variety of industrial and environmental applications. AUVS systems destroy certain chemicals present in contaminated drinking water wells and aquifers. The firm was spun out from Tucson's Hydro Geo Chem Inc, a 23-year-old environmental consulting firm. Along with Trojan, AUVS has identified projects in California with revenue potential of up to $50 million over 3-5 years, with similar potential in other US states. For the past two years, the two firms have been collaborating on the development of low-energy UV lamp technology systems for the removal of certain compounds released into the environment as a by-product of manufacturing....
