CANARIE backs e-business research project on SMEs

A research project on-business models has received $100,000 in funding from CANARIE Inc. The project — New E-business models for SMEs — will be conducted by the Centre francophone de recherche en informatisation des organizations (CEFRIO). The Quebec-based institute has more than 140 university, business and government members and works to improve the performance of organizations through the use of information technology. The three researchers working on the CANARIE-backed project will identify success factors, barriers, prerequisites and conditions that are conducive to helping smaller companies move towards e-business. Other partners in the project are Telus Québec, National Bank of Canada, Industry Canada and Canadian Heritage....
