Evidence for Democracy (E4D) urges the federal government to adopt a five-year National Science, Research, and Innovation Strategy to reverse chronic underfunding of intermural science and fragmented policy. The government's upcoming fall budget also should establish a "Canadian Democracy Fund," and Ottawa needs to implement a coordinated regulatory approach to online safety, E4D says.
