Amika Mobile wins CICP contract for CRC

Ottawa's Amika Mobile Corp has won a a contract to provide the Communications Research Centre (CRC) with its emergency mass notification capability server. The contract was awarded by the Canadian Innovation Commercialization Program, which was established in 2010 to allow smaller businesses the opportunity to use the federal government to beta test and validate innovative new products and services (R$, October 14/10). The privately held Amika was one of 26 firms from a field of 375 asked to submit a full proposal. The Amika Mobility Server system allows the CRC to send alerts for fire and security threats over WiFi, SMS, email, VoIP, PA systems and the web (Twitter, RSS feeds, Facebook)....
