Accelerator graduate raises $2.1 million in seed funding

The Better Software Company (BSC), a Kanata ON-based developer of business management software, has raised $2.1 million in seed funding. The graduate of the L-SPARK Accelerator program, received $1.35 million from New York City-based ffVenture Capital, with the remainder provided by Mistral Venture Partners, Ottawa, and local angel investors. BSC targets smaller firms in micro vertical industries representing a $21-billion market opportunity in areas such as party rentals, window washing and auto detailing. While at L-SPARK — Canada's only incubator/accelerator focused on enterprise software-as-a-service — BSC's sales increased 35-fold or 35% month over month. The firm's objective is to reach $1-billion in sales within five years....
