Rene Hatem, chief technology officer at CANARIE, has left the organization after 12 years to work with a new start-up. Hatem is helping to launch Canadian P2P Fibre Systems Ltd, an Ottawa-based company offering dark fibre to organizations. Bill St Arnaud, CANARIE's chief technology officer, will assume Hatem's responsibilities on an interim basis. While at CANARIE, Hatem worked to build community, regional and national data networks. He also oversaw the engineering and operational management of the CANARIE network….
