A new International Irradiation Association (IIA) has been formed out of the ashes of the Association of International Industrial Irradiation (AIII). The new UK-based association will be steered by a board of directors representing the world’s largest irradiation firms, including Canada’s MDS Nordion. The new association will be headed by Mark Botting, technical Sales coordinator with Istron, Swindon UK. Botting’s appointment was announced at the IIA’s latest board meeting in Toronto. He will devote two days a week to the IIA which is developing a long-term plan to gather and disseminate new science-based data and market developments affecting the radiation processing industry.
