NB Research and Innovation Council formed

The Government of New Brunswick has announced the inaugural members of its New Brunswick Research and Innovation Council, established in direct response to recommendations in the Strategies for Innovation report submitted May/12. Its primary aims are to accelerate the growth of innovation-based entrepreneurship and create the conditions for commercialization of current and future research from the province's public universities and research centres. The council members are: Geoff Flood, founder and president, T4G; Eddy Campbell, president and vice-chancellor, Univ of New Brunswick; Liane Roy, president and CEO of the Collège communautaire du Nouveau-Brunswick; François Cordeau, general manager, Information Communication Technology with the National Research Council; Jon Manship, CEO, Technology Venture Corp; Dan Nowlan, managing director and co-head, Equity Markets, CIBC World Markets Inc; Ian de la Roche, adjunct professor of Forestry, Univ of British Columbia and principal, Delaroche Consultancy; Dr Lynn Nagle, assistant professor of Nursing, Univ of Toronto and president, Nagle and Associates; Jeff White, co-founder and COO, East Valley Ventures, Saint John; Trevor Cookson, CEO, iTacit, Fredericton; Ken Nickerson, founder and COO, iBinary LLC, Toronto; and, Charlotte Burke, Partner, Communications, Media and Technology, Accenture Canada….
