Michael Binder has been appointed interim president of the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission, replacing Linda Keen who was fired by the Harper government January 15th. Binder is a career public servant and long-time assistant DM at Industry Canada responsible for spectrum, information technologies and telecommunications. He holds a PhD in physics from the Univ of Alberta. It's unclear whether Binder will continue to fulfill his role at Industry Canada while serving as president of the CNSC….
