Mark Bisby has been appointed VP research of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), effective February 4. Bisby was formerly CIHR’s director, programs branch and director, research portfolio, and the appointment is part of an internal reorganization in which he is one of four VPs. Bisby played an important liaison role during the transition from the Medical Research Council (MRC) to CIHR. Prior to joining the MRC in 1997, Bisby was head of the Department of Physiology at Queen's Univ,
