Glenn Rainbird is stepping down as president & CEO of TRLabs after nine years at the helm and will be replaced in an acting capacity by Dr Roger Pederson who has also been appointed chief operating officer. During Rainbird’s term, TRLabs grew into Canada’s largest research consortium for information and communication technologies, implementing a core business model that helped more than double annual revenue and employees. With significant private sector funding from more than 70 firms, TRLabs expanded from its Edmonton base across western Canada, establishing research labs in Saskatoon, Winnipeg and an affiliate media lab in Vancouver. A replacement for Rainbird is expected by June when the organization holds its AGM....
