Dr Richard Lipsey has been awarded the 2005 Gold Medal from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council for 50 years of economic research, teaching and policy development. A professor emeritus at Simon Fraser Univ, he is perhaps best known for his economics textbook, An Introduction to Positive Economics, first published in 1963 and translated into 15 languages.
