Dr John ApSimon has been appointed interim executive director of the Canada Research Chairs (CRC) program effective early February and running until June. He replaces René Durocher, who has been appointed VP programs at the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC). ApSimon is professor emeritus at Carleton Univ where he served as VP research during a 38-year career. He serves on the advisory board of the Institute of Marine Biosciences in Halifax, chairs the Ottawa Life Sciences Council and is a member of the Meteorological Service of Canada. He also serves on the boards of several technology firms….
