CLS has positive economic impact: study

The Canadian Light Source (CLS) has a positive impact on the economy even in its early stages of operation, according to an economic impact study conducted for the CLS by Insightrix Research Inc. The study shows that the CLS contributed $90 million to GDP in 2009 and 2010 and led to the training of 500 highly-qualified personnel. Academic research conducted at the CLS contributed to the publication of more than 130 scientific articles. The report's authors noted that many respondents felt it was too early to completely measure results….
