CANARIE seeking proposals for TransLight project

CANARIE Inc is seeking proposals to provide an additional 10 Gbps for CA*net 4 in support of its participation in the international TransLight project. The transcontinental 10 Gbps lambda will be added to the CA*net 4 all-optical network providing six interconnections. TransLight is an initiative between CANARIE, StarLight in Chicago and SURFNet in the Netherlands to support prototypes for aggressive e-science applications. It will enable grid researchers to experiment with provisioning of dedicated circuits (lightpaths) and comparing results with experimental aggregated Internet traffic.
