Canada and India strengthen S&T ties

Canada and India are using S&T to build closer economic ties. Announced January 18 as part of Prime Minister Paul Martin’s visit to Asia, scientific advisers in both countries will be asked to report on collaboration in selected areas of science and industrial technologies. The two countries will also contribute expertise toward the creation of a tsunami early warning system for the region. As well, India and Canada agreed to promote environmentally friendly technologies, strengthen health research cooperation and support a CEO roundtable that would make recommendations for expanding economic ties.
