B.C. agriculture projects receive $2.9M from federal-provincial innovation program

Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada is providing $2.9 million for 15 innovative projects in British Columbia, to assist with the development, commercialization, and adoption of novel technologies. The funding comes through the Canadian Agricultural Partnership (CAP), a five-year, $3-billion program for cost-shared strategic initiatives delivered by the provinces and territories ($2 billion) and federal programs and services ($1 billion). The projects receiving federal-provincial funding under CAP include support for hosting a biogas conference, help for commercializing a new biopesticide product, and funding to develop technology for breeding selective traits in bees, among others.
