TPC invests again in joint US-Canada program

Technology Partnerships Canada (TPC) has made its third in a series of investments in firms participating in the US/Canada Hard Chrome Alternative Technologies project. TPC is investing $1.2 million in Heroux-Devtek Inc, Longueuil PQ, for a joint project to design and develop an alternative to hard chrome plating used to protect aircraft landing gear from wear and corrosion. Heroux-Devtek will test and evaluate the stripping of high velocity oxygen fuel (HVOF) coatings and their compatibility with hydraulic fluids. HVOF coatings have been chosen as the most promising alternative to to hard chrome plating, which has serious environmental drawback
